'Asian Diet' Might Be Overrated

The "Asian diet" is often touted as one of the healthiest in the world.

But after living in Asia for 6 years, I'm not 100% convinced this is true (people everywhere
really struggle with healthy food, in my opinion).

Lucas RockwoodBut what is really great in Thailand in particular is that traditionally, breakfast doesn't exist. Breakfast is just like lunch, which is just like dinner.

Meal times are treated pretty much the same. It's a time for real food, not for sweet muffins or processed breakfast cereals.

This simple shift away from sugar and wheat for breakfast can have a profound impact on your health.

It certainly did for me, I'll tell you that.

It takes some getting used to eating real food for breakfast, and sometimes it does take more
time to prepare (let's be honest), but it's well worth it.

Here are a few tips for eating real food for breakfast:

  • Intentionally make too much food for dinner each night, then eat the leftovers for breakfast.
  • Chop and wash veggies and store them in the refrigerator so you can quickly steam them in the morning (serve with olive oil, lemon & sea salt).
  • If you're going to do juices in the morning, try to eat fruit and juice vegetables (keeps the fiber with the sugary stuff, removes the fiber from the mineral-dense stuff).
  • Keep some high-quality protein and fats on hand so you can make a quick, balanced shake if you're really in a rush.
Stay bendy,

Lucas
